Is Indonesia developed country ?

Why did I make the title "Above"? The story happened last week when I visited the European higher education exhibition. I went to the Czech embassy's booth. There, I spoke and asked many questions because of my high enthusiasm for studying in Europe.

Everything went well until the end, when I asked about the Czech government scholarship program for developing countries. I was quite shocked to hear the answer from the Czech embassy.

They said that the Czech government's scholarship program for this year has been closed to Indonesia. The reason? According to the Czech government, Indonesia is no longer a developing country - Indonesia is now a developed country.

Surprised? I don't know if this is good news or bad. But I think the world must be crazy to consider Indonesia, a country still struggling with many kinds of poverty, as developed. It's not feasible to call us a developed country. The Indonesian government still has a lot of unfinished homework.

I hope Indonesia will become a developed country someday. But for now? I don't think that's correct.

  4. Indonesia is one of the fastest developing countries. But till it turns to self-satisfying tendency instead of working for another countries it won't become a really powerful country.

  5. So glad to found such post. Yeah, I always deem that our lack of optimism is one of the obstacle. Maybe it's time to disregard any bad words about our country and progress towards the better future instead. We need to listen up more to lots of good opinion about Indonesia from those people from abroad, that we are now regarded as a newly emerging power :)
